DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P154A
DTC P154A:Battery Sensor Internal Failure (Engine Type: J35Y1, J35Y2) General Description
The battery sensor is connected between the 12 volt battery and ground. It is also connected to the gauge control module by the local interconnect network (LIN) line and transmits/receives battery sensor information to/from the powertrain control module (PCM) via the controller area network (CAN) line. The battery sensor measures the 12 volt battery’s current, voltage, and temperature. When the PCM requests this information to operate the engine electrical system efficiently, the battery sensor runs a diagnostic program and sends the results to the PCM via the LIN and the CAN line. If the diagnostic results are outside the normal range, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC. Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type, OBD Status
