DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0341
DTC P0341:Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor A and Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Incorrect Phase Detected

General Description

The vehicle equips with the camshaft position (CMP) sensor which detects the camshaft phase, and the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor which detects the crankshaft phase. The pulsing signals are input to the powertrain control module (PCM) and determines the advance or the retard of the camshaft phase according to the signals from the CKP sensor and CMP sensor. After the engine is started, angle is calculated from the deviation, and if it is not within a specified range, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.

Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the battery.
