Wipers/Washers System Description - Control/Function
Windshield Wiper Control
The MICU controls the windshield wiper motor in accordance with inputs such as ignition switch signal or engine start/stop switch signal, wiper switch signal, washer switch signal, and intermittent volume value. The MICU operates the activation at start-up and the intermitted operation linked to vehicle speed in addition to basic operations such as wiper LO/HI, intermitted operation, wiper mist, and linked washer by controlling the windshield wiper motor in accordance with each signal input.

Washer Control
The washer motor is controlled by the MICU which has received the signals from the ignition switch or the engine start/stop switch and the washer switch.

Automatic Wiper Control
The automatic wiper is controlled by the MICU based on the automatic lighting/rain sensor signals received. The delay interval setting, the intermittent wiper operation, and the automatic mode switching (LO/HI) are controlled by the MICU. Also, the wiper rain sensitivity can be changed by operating the sensitivity controller on the wiper switch.

Automatic Lighting/Rain Sensor Connection Check
The MICU spends about a second to check if automatic lighting/rain sensor is connected every time a battery is connected. When MICU does not detect the connection within the time period, the auto wiper function does not work.
