Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
1. Intake Manifold - Exploded View

Exploded View



NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View if needed during this procedure.

1. Front Tower Bar - Remove (If equipped)


2. Fuel Pressure - Relieve


3. Battery Terminal - Disconnect


4. Air Cleaner - Remove


5. Intake Air Duct - Remove

Remove the intake air duct.


6. Throttle Body - Remove


1.
Disconnect the throttle body connector (A).

2.
Remove the harness clamps (B).

3.
Remove the EVAP canister hose (C) from the clamp.





4.
Remove the throttle body without disconnecting the hoses.

7. Fuel Feed Hose - Disconnect



8. Brake Booster Vacuum Hose, Vacuum Hose, and MAP Sensor Connector - Disconnect


1.
Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose (A), the vacuum hose (B), and the MAP sensor connector (C).

2.
Remove the fuel feed pipe (D) and the vacuum pipe (E) from the clamps.

9. PCV Hose - Disconnect


1.
Disconnect the PCV hose (A).

2.
Remove the PCV hose from the clamp.

10. Intake Manifold Bracket - Remove

Remove the intake manifold bracket.


11. Intake Manifold Assembly - Remove

Remove the intake manifold assembly.



NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View if needed during this procedure.

1. Intake Manifold Assembly - Install


1.
Install the intake manifold assembly (A) with new gaskets (B).

2.
Tighten the bolts/nuts in a crisscross pattern in three steps, beginning with the inner bolt.

2. Intake Manifold Bracket - Install

Install the intake manifold bracket.


3. PCV Hose - Connect


1.
Install the PCV hose (A) to the clamp.

2.
Connect the PCV hose.

4. Brake Booster Vacuum Hose, Vacuum Hose, and MAP Sensor Connector - Connect


1.
Install the fuel feed pipe (A) and the vacuum pipe (B) to the clamps.

2.
Connect the brake booster vacuum hose (C), the vacuum hose (D), and the MAP sensor connector (E).

5. Fuel Feed Hose - Connect


1.
Install the fuel feed hose (A) to the clamp (B).


6. Throttle Body - Install


1.
Install the throttle body (A) with a new gasket (B).

2.
Tighten the bolts in a cross pattern in three steps; tighten the bolts until the bolts sit on the throttle body, tighten the bolts until the gasket is compressed and both parts are contacted, tighten the bolts to specified torque.

Install the EVAP canister hose (A) to the clamp.

4.
Install the harness clamps (B).

5.
Connect the throttle body connector (C).

7. Intake Air Duct - Install

Install the intake air duct.


8. Air Cleaner - Install


9. Battery Terminal - Connect


10. Front Tower Bar - Install (If equipped)


11. Fuel Leak (Low Pressure) - Check

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel rail will be pressurized. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.

12. Tubes, Hoses, and Connector After Installation - Check

After installation, check that all tubes, hoses, and connectors are installed correctly.
