Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
1. Intake Manifold - Exploded View

Exploded View



NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View if needed during this procedure.

1. Intake Air Duct - Remove


1.
Disconnect the breather pipe (A).

2.
Remove the intake air duct (B).

2. Throttle Body - Remove


1.
Disconnect the throttle actuator connector (A), the EVAP canister purge valve connector (B), the MAP sensor connector (C), and the EVAP canister purge hose (D).

2.
Remove the throttle body (E) without disconnecting the water bypass hoses (F).

3. Connector and Brake Booster Vacuum Hoses - Disconnect


1.
Disconnect the PCV hose (A) and the brake booster vacuum hose (B).

2.
M/T: Disconnect the vacuum hose (C).

4. Upper Cover - Remove


1.
Remove the upper cover mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps.

2.
Remove the upper cover (A).

5. Intake Manifold Assembly - Remove


1.
Remove the intake manifold mounting bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps.

2.
Remove the intake manifold.


NOTE: Refer to the Exploded View if needed during this procedure.

1. Intake Manifold Assembly - Install

Install the intake manifold. Tighten the bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps. Always use a new intake manifold gasket.

Specified Torque:
22 N·m (2.2 kgf·m, 16 lbf·ft)


2. Upper Cover - Install


1.
Install the upper cover (A).

2.
Tighten the bolts and nuts sequentially in three steps. Always use a new gasket.

Specified Torque:
12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)

3. Connector and Brake Booster Vacuum Hoses - Connect


1.
M/T: Connect the vacuum hose (A)

2.
Connect the brake booster vacuum hose (B) and the PCV hose (C).

4. Throttle Body - Install


1.
Install the throttle body (A).

2.
Tighten the bolts/nuts (B) in a cross pattern in three steps; tighten the bolts/nuts until the bolts/nuts sit on the throttle body, tighten the bolts/nuts until the gasket is compressed and both parts are contacted, tighten the bolts/nuts to specified torque.

3.
Connect the throttle actuator connector (C), the EVAP canister purge valve connector (D), the MAP sensor connector (E), and the EVAP canister purge hose (F).

5. Intake Air Duct - Install


1.
Install the intake air duct (A).


2.
Connect the breather pipe (B).

6. Tubes, Hoses, and Connector After Installation - Check

After installation, check that all tubes, hoses, and connectors are installed correctly.
