Parking Brake Inspection and Adjustment

Parking Brake - Inspect
1.
Pull the parking brake lever (A) with 196 N (20.0 kgf, 44.1 lbf) of force to fully apply the parking brake.
2.
The parking brake lever should be locked within the specified number of clicks.
Lever locked clicks: 5 to 7 clicks
3.
If the number of lever clicks is not as specified, adjust the parking brake.
1.
Vehicle - Lift
Raise and support the vehicle

2.
Rear Wheels - Remove
Remove both rear wheels
.
3.
Center Console Rear Trim - Remove
1.
Remove the center console rear trim (A)
.
2.
Disconnect the middle interior LF antenna connector (B) if necessary.
4.
Rear Vent - Remove (With rear ventilation)
1.
Remove the clip (A).
2.
Remove the rear vent (B).
5.
Adjusting Nut - Loosen
1.
Release the parking brake lever fully.
2.
Loosen the adjusting nut (A).
6.
Rear Brake Caliper Arm Contact - Check
Make sure the lever (A) on the rear brake caliper contacts the arm (B).
NOTE: The lever will only contact the arm when the adjusting nut is loosened.
7.
Rear Wheels - Install
Install both rear wheels

8.
Parking Brake - Adjust
1.
Pull the parking brake lever 1 click.
2.
Tighten the adjusting nut until the parking brakes drag slightly when the rear wheels are turned.
3.
Release the parking brake lever fully.
4.
Check that the parking brakes do not drag when the rear wheels are turned.
5.
Readjust if necessary.
6.
Make sure the parking brake lever is within the specified number of clicks (5 to 7 clicks).
9.
Rear Vent - Install (With rear ventilation)
1.
Install the rear vent (A).
2.
Install the clip (B).
10.
Center Console Rear Trim - Install
1.
Connect the middle interior LF antenna connector (A) if disconnected.
2.
Install the center console rear trim (B)
