Release the cowl cover (A) from the roof molding (B).

Carefully insert the large trim tool (A) and the plastic spatula (B) under the roof molding (C) next to the clip (D).

While pulling up the clip area of the molding by hand, push each of the six small hooks (E) to release the clip from the retainer (F) on the A-pillar. Do not try to pry up the clip if it is hard to release from the retainer.
4.
Gradually work your way up to release each of the clips (G) in the numbered sequence shown.
5.
Remove the roof area of the roof molding (A) from the retainers (B).
6.
Remove the rear end of the roof molding (A) from the pin (B).

Retainer - Remove
1.
Gradually scrape off the adhesive tape (A) under the retainers (B) while heating it with a heat gun to about 212?248 °F (100?120 °C).
NOTE:
Do not overheat the painted surface around the retainers.
To keep the exterior plastic parts near the A-pillar from being overheated by the heat gun, wrap them with aluminum foil.

Remove the retainers (A) from the pins (B).

Retainer - Install
1.
Install the retainers (A) to the pins (B).
2.
Clean the body bonding surface with a shop towel dampened with isopropyl alcohol. After cleaning, keep oil, grease, and water from getting on the clean surface.
3.
Line up the retainers (A) with the alignment marks (B) on the body.
4.
Install the retainers with the adhesive tape (C).

Roof Molding - Install
1.
Install the cowl cover (A), and install the front end of the roof molding (B) into the cowl cover.
2.
Install the rear end of the roof molding (A) to the pin (B).
3.
Install the roof area of the roof molding (A) to the retainers (B).
4.
Install the clips (A) of the roof molding (B) to the retainers (C) in the numbered sequence shown.
