Remove the trunk lid torsion bars (A) from the trunk lid torsion bar clip (B).

Have an assistant hold the trunk lid open.

Hook the torsion bar assembly tool over the torsion bar (A) to be removed.

Push forward with the torsion bar assembly tool to release the torsion bar from the torsion spring slider (B) and hold tool there.

NOTE: The clip will stay attached to the torsion bar spring, and the clip slider (C) will fall out of the hinge.

While holding the tool in position with one hand, place your other hand on the upper portion of the torsion bar assembly tool and pull back to release the torsion bar from the body clips (D).

While holding onto the torsion bar assembly tool with both hands, slowly release the tension by allowing the torsion bar to unwind, then remove it from the trunk lid hinge.

Remove the trunk lid torsion bar clip (A) from the body.

NOTE: 2-door is shown; 4-door is similar.

Have an assistant hold the trunk lid open, then install the trunk lid torsion bar clip (A) to the body.

Release the lock (B) to open the torsion bar clamp.

Hook the torsion bar assembly tool over the torsion bar (A) to be installed.

Hold the torsion bar assembly tool with both hands, and slowly push down on the torsion bar tool to apply tension to the torsion bar.

With the torsion bar tensioned, install the torsion bar into the two body clips (B), and slowly release the torsion bar tension.

Push down on the torsion bar assembly tool again and install the torsion spring slider (C) into the clip (D).

Install the slider onto the trunk hinge (E) with the hooked pin (F) facing up and forward. Push the hooked pin into the front hole on the hinge making sure it fully seated, then position the longer pin (G) over the other hole, and slowly release the tension. Check to making sure the slider is aligned and fully seated on the hinge.

Install the trunk lid left torsion bar (A) and the trunk lid right torsion bar (B) to the trunk lid torsion bar clip (C).
