Clutch Slave Cylinder Removal and Installation

NOTE:
Use fender covers to avoid damaging painted surfaces.
Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint or plastic. If brake fluid gets on the paint or plastic, wash it off immediately with water.

1. Slave Cylinder - Remove (K24W1 Engine)

Remove and discard the brake fluid from the clutch reservoir with a syringe or other suitable device.

2.
Disconnect the clutch line. To prevent spills, cover the line joint with rags or clean shop towels.

NOTE: Loosen the flare nut (A) while holding the clutch line connector (B) using a wrench.

Remove the slave cylinder (A).

2. Slave Cylinder - Remove (J35Y2 Engine)


1.
Remove and discard the brake fluid from the clutch reservoir with a syringe or other suitable device.

2.
Remove the harness bracket (A).

3.
Install the slave cylinder bolt (B).





4.
Disconnect the clutch line. To prevent spills, cover the line joint with rags or clean shop towels.

NOTE: Loosen the flare nut (A) while holding the clutch line connector (B) using a wrench.





5.
Remove the slave cylinder (A).

3. Clutch Line Connector - Remove


1.
Remove the roll pins (A).

2.
Remove the clutch line connector (B) and the O-ring (C).

1. Clutch Line Connector - Install


1.
Install a new O-ring (A) on the clutch line connector (B).

2.
Install the clutch line connector.

3.
Install new roll pins (C).

2. Slave Cylinder - Install (K24W1 Engine)


1.
Apply a light coat of super high temp urea grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the push rod (A) of the slave cylinder (B).

2.
Install the slave cylinder.





3.
Connect the clutch line (A) to the slave cylinder (B), and tighten the flare nut (C).

NOTE: Tighten the flare nut while holding the clutch line connector (D) using a wrench.

3. Slave Cylinder - Install (J35Y2 Engine)


1.
Apply a light coat of super high temp urea grease (P/N 08798-9002) to the push rod (A) of the slave cylinder (B).

2.
Install the slave cylinder.





3.
Connect the clutch line (A) to the slave cylinder (B), and tighten the flare nut (C).

NOTE: Tighten the flare nut while holding the clutch line connector (D) using a wrench.






4.
Remove the slave cylinder bolt (A).

5.
Install the harness bracket (B).

4. Clutch Hydraulic System - Bleed


2.
Check the clutch operation and check for leaking fluid.

5. Test Drive - Check

Test-drive the vehicle.
