Side Impact Sensor (Third) Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1.	Battery Terminal - Disconnect

Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

2.	Rear Side Trim Panel - Remove

Remove the rear side trim panel.

3.	Side Impact Sensor (Third) - Remove

Disconnect the side impact sensor (third) connector (A) on the left or right side wire harness.

Remove the TORX bolt (B) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the side impact sensor (third) (C).

1.	Side Impact Sensor (Third) - Install

Install the side impact sensor (third) (A) with the new TORX bolt (B), using a TORX T30 bit.

Connect the side impact sensor (third) connector (C) on the left or right side wire harness.

2.	Battery Terminal - Connect

Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.

3.	DTC - Clear

Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

4.	SRS Operation - Confirm

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

5.	Rear Side Trim Panel - Install

Install the rear side trim panel.
