CVTF Warmer Strainer Removal and Installation

NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.

1. Vehicle - Lift

Raise and support the vehicle.

2. Splash Separator - Remove

Remove the splash separator.

3. Front Bumper Upper Air Duct - Remove

Remove the front bumper upper air duct.

4. Battery - Remove

Do the battery removal procedure.

5. Air Cleaner - Remove

Remove the air cleaner.

6. PCM with Bracket - Remove
1.
Disconnect PCM connectors A, B, and C.
NOTE: PCM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=?, B=?, C=?) embossed on them for identification.
2.
Remove the harness clamps (D).
3.
Remove the harness holder (E).
4.
Remove the PCM (F) with the bracket.

7. Battery Base - Remove
1.
Remove the harness clamps (A).
2.
Remove the battery base (B).
NOTE: Loosen the bolts (C), without removing them.

8. Transmission Fluid Warmer - Remove
NOTE: To prevent damage, cover the solenoid wire harness A connector using a shop towel.
1.
Unclamp the transmission fluid warmer outlet hose from the hose clamp (A).
2.
Remove the transmission fluid warmer (B) with the O-rings (C) with the transmission fluid warmer hoses still connected.
NOTE: The transmission fluid warmer is aluminum part. Check the transmission fluid warmer for wear and damage.
3.
Put plastic bag over the transmission fluid warmer.
4.
Support the transmission fluid warmer using a strap.

9. Transmission Fluid Warmer Strainer - Remove
1.
Remove the transmission fluid warmer strainer (A) with the O-ring (B).

2.
Check the transmission fluid warmer strainer for damage or clogging. If it is damaged or clogged, replace it.
NOTE: Do not use compressed air to clean the transmission fluid warmer strainer.


NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.

1. Transmission Fluid Warmer Strainer - Install
1.
Clean the mounting surfaces of the transmission housing.
2.
Install the transmission fluid warmer strainer (A) using a new O-ring (B).

2. Transmission Fluid Warmer - Install
1.
Install the transmission fluid warmer (A) using new O-rings (B).
NOTE: The transmission fluid warmer is aluminum part. Check the transmission fluid warmer for wear and damage.
2.
Clamp the transmission fluid warmer outlet hose (C) with the hose clamp (D) at the white paint line (E).

3. Battery Base - Install
1.
Install the battery base (A).
2.
Install the harness clamps (B).

4. PCM with Bracket - Install
1.
Install the PCM (D) with the bracket.
2.
Install the harness holder (E).
3.
Connect PCM connectors A, B, and C.
NOTE: PCM connectors A, B, and C have symbols (A=?, B=?, C=?) embossed on them for identification.
4.
Install the harness clamps (F).

5. Air Cleaner - Install

Install the air cleaner.

7. Front Bumper Upper Air Duct - Install

Install the front bumper upper air duct.

8. Splash Separator - Install

Install the splash separator.

9. Transmission Fluid Level - Check

Check the transmission fluid level.
