NOTE:
The tapered roller bearing and the tapered roller bearing outer race should be replaced as a set.
Adjust the tapered roller bearing preload whenever the tapered roller bearing is replaced.
Check the tapered roller bearing for wear and rough rotation. If the tapered roller bearing is OK, removal is not necessary.

1. Tapered Roller Bearing - Remove

Remove the tapered roller bearings (A) using the bearing separator, a commercially available bearing puller (B), and a spacer (C).


2. Tapered Roller Bearing - Install

Install the tapered roller bearing (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle, the 45 mm attachment, and a press. Press the tapered roller bearing on securely so there is no clearance between the tapered roller bearing and the final drive shaft.





Transmission Housing Side
2.
Install the tapered roller bearing (A) using the 15 x 135L driver handle, the 40 mm attachment, and a press. Press the tapered roller bearing on securely so there is no clearance between the tapered roller bearing and the final drive shaft.
