Remove the drain plug (A), and drain the transmission fluid.
NOTE: Remove metal particles from the magnetic surface of the drain plug.
2.
Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer (B).
5.
Transmission Fluid Pan - Remove
1.
Remove the transmission fluid pan (A).
NOTE: The actual transmission fluid (HCF-2) capacity will vary from the specified capacity based on the length of time the transmission fluid pan is off the transmission. Avoid leaving the transmission fluid pan off for extend periods of time.
2.
Remove the dowel pins (B).
3.
Remove the gasket (C).
6.
Transmission Magnet - Remove
1.
Remove the transmission magnets (A) with the magnet guides (B).
NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
1.
Transmission Magnet - Install
1.
Install new transmission magnets (A) with new magnet guides (B).
2.
Transmission Fluid Pan - Install
1.
Install the dowel pins (A).
2.
Install a new gasket (B).
3.
Loosely install the transmission fluid pan (C).
NOTE: Do not pinch the solenoid wire harnesses.
4.
Tighten the bolts in a crisscross pattern in at least two steps to the specified torque.
NOTE:
Tighten the hidden bolt (A) in the next step because it is not easily accessible.
Do not use a universal joint to tighten the bolts.
Specified Torque:
12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)
5.
Use the transmission jack (A) to lift the transmission.
NOTE: Gain access to the hidden bolt (B) from the wheel side by lifting the transmission and tighten the bolt using a torque wrench with a straight socket to the specified torque in the next step.
6.
Tighten the bolt to the specified torque, then remove the transmission jack.
