NOTE:
The carrier bearing and the carrier bearing outer race should be replaced as a set.
Adjust the carrier bearing preload whenever the carrier bearing is replaced.
Check the carrier bearing for wear and rough rotation. If the carrier bearing is OK, removal is not necessary.

1. Carrier Bearing - Remove

Transmission Housing Side

Remove the carrier bearings (A) using the bearing separator, a commercially available bearing puller (B), and a spacer (C).

2. Carrier Bearing - Install
Torque Converter Housing Side
1.
Press the carrier bearing (A) on securely so there is no clearance between the carrier bearing and the differential carrier using the 40 mm installer attachment and a press.
Transmission Housing Side
2.
Press the carrier bearing (A) on securely so there is no clearance between the carrier bearing and the differential carrier using the 15 x 135L driver handle, the 66 mm oil Seal driver attachment, and a press.
