1. Before Aiming - Set

NOTE:
Aiming should be done in a well-lighted area.
There should be no bright objects at the back of the target (sunlight, windows, illumination, or reflectors) or design similar to the target pattern.
Make sure the suspension has not been modified.
Make sure all the tire sizes are correct and that their pressure is correct.
Make sure the fuel tank is full.
Remove all cargo from the vehicle except the tool kit.
Make sure the steering wheel is pointed straight ahead, and do not turn it after setting the vehicle.
Shift the transmission to P position, and apply the parking brake.
When marking on the floor, use suitable tape to mark the exact locations.

Prepare these items:
Tape measure and ruler
Felt-tip pen
Tape
String


Set the string at each outside of the vehicle

1.
Find the center of one wheel (A) using the alignment set and mark it.


2.
Measure the 76.2 mm (3.00 in) from the edge of the alignment set, and mark a second mark (B1) that intersects the wheel's center line.

NOTE: Repeat this step for each wheel (B2), (C1) and (C2).


Set the cord along the center-line of the vehicle.

NOTE: When installing a cord along the center-line of the vehicle, install the cord using the front and rear jack-up brackets, the towing hook, the emblem, and the scribe lines of the frame part as reference points:
When installing an aiming target on the rear of the vehicle, use the centering stand in the rear.
When installing an aiming target on the front of the vehicle, use the centering stand in the front.

Place the centering stand of the alignment set under the rear towing hook or the front jack-up bracket, then mark the spot at the center line of the centering stand.

Position the gas strut holder between the rear towing hook or the front jack-up bracket and the mark on the floor.

5.
Place the centering stand of the alignment set under the front jack-up bracket or the rear towing hook, and run the cord through it.

6.
Attach the cord to the collar of the alignment set, placing the collar of the alignment set about 2.0 m (6.6 ft) in front of the vehicle or behind the vehicle.

NOTE: Make sure the cord is tight and not laying on the ground, then align the cord in the center of the alignment set.
