DTC P0331: Knock Sensor 2 (Bank 2) Malfunction
NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot, and review the general troubleshooting information.

Check that the knock sensor 2 (Bank 2) is installed correctly.

Is the knock sensor 2 (Bank 2) installed correctly?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Installation is not correct, reinstall the knock sensor 2 (Bank 2), then do the repair verification.
Repair verification:

Reconnect all connectors.

Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Test-drive under these conditions:
Engine coolant temperature (ECT SENSOR 1) above 158 °F (70 °C)
A/T in D, M/T in 4th
Engine speed at 1,500 rpm or more
Drive 5 seconds or more

Is DTC P0331 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at knock sensor 2 (Bank 2) and the PCM. If the PCM was updated, substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the PCM was substituted, go to step 1.
     
NO
     
     
     
Troubleshooting is complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs are indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.?
