DTC Troubleshooting: P2818
DTC P2818: Shift Solenoid Valve O/P (Pressure Control Solenoid "H") Stuck On
NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot with the HDS, and review the General Troubleshooting Information.

1.
DTC check:

DTC check
?1.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.


?3.
Start the engine, and warm it up to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on twice).

?4.
With the brake pedal pressed, shift to N, then to D, and wait for at least 1 second. Release the brake pedal, and test-drive the vehicle in D on a flat road until the vehicle speed reaches 25 mph (40 km/h). Slow down to a stop, and keep stopping for at least 10 seconds.

?5.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode. Restart the engine, with the brake pedal pressed, shift to N, then to D, and wait for at least 1 second. Release the brake pedal, and retest-drive the vehicle in D on a flat road until the vehicle speed reaches 25 mph (40 km/h). Slow down to a stop, and keep stopping for at least 10 seconds.

Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

YES
     
     
     
Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.?

Shift Solenoid Valve O/P operation check:

Shift Solenoid Valve O/P operation check
?1.
Select the Shift Solenoid Valve O/P Test in the Miscellaneous Test Menu, and check that the shift solenoid valve O/P operates with the HDS.

  

Does the shift solenoid valve O/P work properly?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair verification (OBD STATUS check):

?1.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.


?3.

Troubleshooting is complete. Check for other DTC after this troubleshooting. If any other Pending or Confirmed DTCs were indicated, go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting.?

Troubleshooting is incomplete, then go to step 1 and recheck.

Repair verification is incomplete. Meet the test condition, and check the OBD STATUS again.
