B1176 Fuel level sensor (Fuel gauge sending unit) circuit short
 

1.
Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?2.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and wait more than 30 seconds.

?4.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B1176 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.?
2.
Shorted wire check (FUEL GAGE+ line):

Shorted wire check (FUEL GAGE+ line)
?1.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connectors.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
IG LOCK (0) or OFF mode
Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
Fuel gauge sending unit 4P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
FUEL GAGE+
Test point 1
Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 22 (GRY)
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to ground in the wire between the gauge control module and the fuel gauge sending unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The FUEL GAGE+ wire is OK. Go to step 3.

Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
