DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P062F
DTC P062F:TCM Internal Control Module Error General Description
The transmission control module (TCM) is equipped with a keep alive memory (KAM). The data (control learn data, etc.) for powertrain control and information (vehicle identification number (VIN), etc.) related to the vehicle control is stored in the KAM, so that it can be maintained even when power is not supplied to the TCM, such as when the 12 volt battery is disconnected. When powered up, the CPU retrieves the stored information from the KAM, as well as writes data to the KAM (control related data is written when the vehicle condition is turned to the ON mode, and vehicle information when commanded from the HDS). When the data retrieval or data writing process is not finished normally, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC. Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
A malfunction is detected whenever the keep alive data retrieval and writing process is not completed normally. Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on, the shift position indicator blinks, and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory. Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command. |
