DTC P2818:Shift Solenoid Valve O/P (Pressure Control Solenoid "H") Stuck On General Description
Transmission fluid pump volume changes by shift solenoid valve O/P ON/OFF control
The shift solenoid valve O/P controls the drain circuit close/open commanded by the transmission control module (TCM) ON/OFF commands. The transmission fluid pump volume is changed by switching the shift solenoid valve O/P ON/OFF control. The TCM commands the driver circuit to turn on the shift solenoid valve O/P. The TCM temporarily increases the driven pulley pressure up to target value. As the commanded driven pulley pressure reaches the target value, the TCM monitors the driven pulley pressure when the shift solenoid valve O/P is ON and OFF. If the driven pulley pressure does not change, or the pulley ratio is at a specified value when decelerated to a stop, the TCM detects a shift solenoid valve O/P stuck ON malfunction and stores a DTC. Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
One of these symptoms occurs: Symptom 1: Judgments 1 and 2 are executed sequentially, and if the driven pulley pressure does not change when the shift solenoid valve O/P [Shift Sol O/P] is ON and OFF.
Symptom 2: The pulley ratio [Pulley Ratio] is less than 2.0 when the vehicle is stopped. Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the TCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the shift position indicator blinks and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on. Conditions for clearing the DTC
The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command. |
