DTC Advanced Diagnostics: P0617
DTC P0617:Starter Cut Relay Diagnosis Circuit High Voltage General Description
The diagnosis of the starter cut relays are done at the engine starting operation with enable conditions for the diagnosis are fulfilled. To check both starter cut relays, the switching off sequence of the driver ICs are changed at the end of every starter operation. The testing of stuck starter cut relays are done by measuring the voltage at the starter cut relays when the starter is not active. If the voltage of starter cut relay diagnostic line is a specified value, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC. Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type
Enable Conditions
Malfunction Threshold
The diagnosis line (ST RLY1 TO 2) input voltage [Starter Cut Relay] is 3.01 V or more for at least 0.5 second. Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
Start the engine, and let it idle. Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory. The MIL does not come on. Conditions for clearing the DTC
The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command. |
