Use masking paper for the flat surface, and masking tape for the corners.

There are two reverse masking methods. One is to use a masking tape and another is to use a masking paper.
NOTE: Painting the way to the separation line defeats the purpose of reverse masking. Consider the size of repair area and apply masking with an ample margin.

When giving a gradation paint to a pillar or similar parts, lift the masking paper from the repair part to create a tunnel-like space so that ending line of the paint becomes fuzzy resulting in smooth color gradation of the repair part to the original colored part. In some cases, the masking is lifted at two or three stages based on the cycles of the gradation paint
