Wipers/Washers System Description - Failsafe Function
Hardware Failsafe
The control module of the CPU for the windshield wiper control unit/motor in case of an abnormality is as shown in the table.
Body Control Module Frame Error
In case of a bus off error or wiper/washer switch signal error, the failsafe operation is as follows: NOTE: If the back up line switches from OFF to ON, failsafe operation starts with Step 1.
Body Control Module Frame Error in Auto Mode Operation
If a wiper switch signal error occurs while the wipers are operating in auto mode, the failsafe operation is as follows:
BACK UP LINE and LIN Inconsistency Error
If an error occurs due to inconsistency between the back up line and LIN (IG1 signal and wiper switch signal), the failsafe operation is as follows:
Automatic Wiper Frame Error
If the automatic lighting/rain sensor is faulty or an abnormal automatic wiper signal is detected, the failsafe operation is as follows:
Thermal Protection Function
The intelligent controlled wiper system performs thermal protection control to prevent excess heat generation by the windshield wiper control unit/motor due to abnormal load. If the temperature of the windshield wiper control unit/motor exceeds the protective action temperature, the wiping speed is reduced, and is restored once the temperature falls below the reset action temperature. |
