Engine Oil Pan Removal and Installation

NOTE:
Do not disconnect the suction hose and the discharge hose.
Do not bend the suction hose and the discharge hose excessively.
Hang the A/C compressor with a wire tie.

9. Clutch Cover/Torque Converter Cover - Remove

Remove the clutch cover (M/T) or the torque converter cover (CVT) (A) and the transmission mounting bolts (B).

12. Lower Arm Mounting Bolt - Remove


13. Middle Stiffener Mounting Bolt - Remove


14. Front Subframe Rear Stay Mounting Bolt/Nut - Remove


15. Front Subframe - Move

Rear side
1.
Loosen the subframe mounting bolts (A) from the front subframe (B) on rear side, so they are about 30 mm (1.18 in) from the mounting surface.





Front side
2.
Loosen the subframe mounting bolts (A) from the front subframe (B) on front side, so they are about 30 mm (1.18 in) from the mounting surface.

16. Oil Pan - Remove

Remove the oil pan mounting bolts.





2.
Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the lower block in the places shown.

Remove the oil pan.

1. Oil Pan - Install

Apply liquid gasket to the lower block and the cam chain case mating surface of the oil pan, and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes.

Install the oil pan (A) with a new O-ring (B).

Tighten the bolts in three steps. In the final step, torque all bolts, in sequence, to the specified torque. Wipe off the excess liquid gasket on the each side of crankshaft pulley and flywheel or drive plate.

Specified Torque:
12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)

5. Transmission Jack - Remove


8. Clutch Cover/Torque Converter Cover - Install

1.
Install the clutch cover (M/T) or the torque converter cover (CVT) (A) and the transmission mounting bolts (B).
