Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs.
Be careful not to damage the sunlight sensor and the dashboard.

1. Sunlight Sensor - Test

1.
Pull out the sunlight sensor (A).

2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

3.
Measure the voltage between (?) probe on terminal No. 2 and (?) probe on terminal No. 1 with the connector connected.

NOTE: The voltage readings will not change under the light of a flashlight or a fluorescent lamp.

Voltage should be:
3.56 V with no sunlight or the sensor covered up
Less than 3.56 V with sunlight on the sensor
(depending on sunlight intensity)

4.
If the voltage is not as specified, replace the sunlight sensor.
