Measure the Lines Along the Sides of the Vehicle
1.
Find the center (A) of one wheel using the centering stand and mark it.
Except Type-R
Type-R
2.
Measure 76.2 mm (3.00 in) from the edge of the centering stand, and mark a new point Z1 that intersects the wheel's center-line.
NOTE: Repeat this step for each wheel (Z2, Y1, and Y2).
Set the Cord Along the Center-Line of the Vehicle:
NOTE:
When installing a cord along the center-line of the vehicle, install the cord using these items as reference points.
The reference items may vary by vehicle:
?
Front and rear jacking brackets
?
Towing hook
?
Front emblem
?
Scribe lines of the front subframe part
?
Center plastic bumper clip
?
Plastic clips of the rear bumper lower trim
When installing an aiming target on the rear of the vehicle, use the centering stand in the rear.
When installing an aiming target on the front of the vehicle, use the centering stand in the front.
3.
Place the centering stand under the center bumper clip (B) so that the pointer is at the center of the clip, then mark new a point X at the center-line of the centering stand.
4.
Using the two clips (C) and (D) securing the rear bumper lower trim, suspend a plumb bob from the center of each clip and make points U and V on the floor surface where the plumb bob comes in contact with the floor. Place a string so that it passes over points U and V on the floor surface and secure the string with tape.
5.
Using a tape measure, measure the distance between points U and V and determine the center of the two points. Mark this point as W. Place the center-line of the centering stand at point W.
For targets at the front of the vehicle
6.
Place one end of the cord on point W and secure it to the floor so it does not move.
NOTE: Lightly pull on the cord to make sure that it is secured and apply additional tape as necessary.
7.
Place the center-line of the centering stand at point X and run the cord through it.
8.
Place the cord in front of the centering stand until you are ready to the set up the target position for the applicable aiming procedure.
For targets at the rear of the vehicle
