Washer Motor Removal, Installation, and Test
1. Front Inner Fender - Remove

USA and Mexico models, and Canada models 2.0 L:
Remove the right front inner fender as needed.


2. Windshield Washer Motor - Remove

USA and Mexico models (Except Japan production)

USA models (Japan production)

Canada models (Except Japan production)

Disconnect the connector (A).

2.
Remove the windshield washer motor (B).

NOTE: Fluid may flow out of the opening.

3.
Remove the grommet (C).

NOTE: Inspect the grommet for damage. If damaged, replace it.

3. All Removed Parts - Install

Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

1. Windshield Washer Motor - Test

Except Japan production

Japan production

Test the washer motor (A) by connecting 12 volt battery power to terminal No. 1 and ground to terminal No. 2 of the washer motor. The motor should run.

If the washer motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the windshield washer motor.
If the washer motor runs smoothly, but little or no washer fluid is pumped, check for a disconnected or blocked washer hose, or a clogged washer motor outlet.
