Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Clear the DTC with the HDS.
Clear DTC 
   
?3.
 
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
   
?4.
 
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
   
?5.
 
Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0327 indicated?
 
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
   
 
   
 
2.
 
Determine possible failure area (knock sensor, others): 
Determine possible failure area (knock sensor, others)
?1.
 
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
   
?2.
 
Disconnect the following connector.
 
Knock sensor 2P connector
   
  
  
    
?3.
 
Start the engine, and hold the engine speed at 1,000 rpm or more.
   
?4.
 
Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC P0328 indicated?
 
3.
 
Shorted wire check (KS POS line to KS NEG line):
Shorted wire check (KS POS line to KS NEG line)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
   
?2.
 
Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
SCS Short 
   
?3.
 
Disconnect the following connector.
 
PCM connector No. 1 (96P)
   
  
  
    
?4.
 
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

Is there continuity?
 
Repair a short in the KS POS wire to the KS NEG wire between the PCM and the knock sensor.?

Repair a short in the KS POS wire between PCM connector No. 1 terminal No. 71 and the knock sensor.?
