Test-drive the vehicle.

Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs in the PGM-FI SYSTEM with the HDS.

YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
DTC is not indicated. Go to step 2.
2.
Open wire check (IG1 (RVSLCK line)*1/IG1(RVS LCK SOL) line*2/IG1(RVS LCK) line*3):

Open wire check (IG1(RVSLCK) line/IG1(RVS LCK SOL) line/IG1(RVS LCK) line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.
Reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector

?3.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?4.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle ON mode
 
Reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector (female terminals) No. 1:
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
The IG1 (RVSLCK) wire*1/IG1(RVS LCK SOL) wire*2/IG1(RVS LCK) wire*3 is OK. Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the IG1(RVSLCK) wire*1/IG1(RVS LCK SOL) wire*2/IG1(RVS LCK) wire*3 between the No. B21 (10 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the reverse lockout solenoid.?
3.
Open wire check (RVSLCK line*1/RVSLCK/REVERSE LOCK SOL line*2/RVS LCK line*3):

Open wire check (RVSLCK line/RVSLCK/REVERSE LOCK SOL line/RVS LCK line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.


?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector No. 2 (58P)*2
PCM connector E (80P)*1*3

?4.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
PCM connector No. 2 (58P)*2: disconnected
PCM connector E (80P)*1*3: disconnected
Reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Test point 2
Reverse lockout solenoid 2P connector (female terminals) No. 2:


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The RVSLCK wire*1/RVSLCK/REVERSE LOCK SOL wire*2/RVS LCK wire*3 is OK. Go to step 4.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the RVSLCK wire*1/RVSLCK/REVERSE LOCK SOL wire*2/RVS LCK wire*3 between the reverse lockout solenoid and the PCM.?

Is the reverse lockout solenoid OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
The reverse lockout solenoid is OK. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM.?
