Wipers/Washers System Description - Control/Function
Windshield Wiper
The MICU controls the windshield wiper motor based on inputs from the wiper switch, the washer switch, the windshield wiper motor autostop (AS) signal, and B-CAN input data.
When the combination switch is set to High or Low, the MICU runs the wiper motor at a steady predetermined speed. When the combination switch is set to intermittent, the MICU varies wiper speed based on vehicle speed, and based on shift position input, brake switch input, and parking brake switch signal, will activate the wiper when it sees the brake switch input turn off with the car at a stop. This provides the driver with improved visibility when then begin to accelerate from a stop. The MICU also activates the wiper motor when it sees a "mist command" from the combination switch, or sees a washer switch input.
Some windshield wiper settings can be modified using the customization function.

Rear Window Wiper
The MICU controls the rear wiper motor based on inputs from the wiper switch, the washer switch, the windshield wiper motor autostop (AS) signal, and B-CAN input data.
When the combination switch is set to rear wiper, the MICU activates the rear wiper. The MICU also activates the rear wiper motor when the windshield wiper motor is on, and the MICU sees a reverse light command.
Some settings can be modified using the customization function.

Washer
The MICU controls the washer motor with the signal inputs from the washer switch. The integral washer motor uses the differential pressure valves and spray can be switched between the windshield and rear window according to the rotating direction.
