The front passenger's weight sensor unit receives front passenger's seat weight information detected by a sensor, and sends this information to the SRS unit. If the weight of the front passenger's seat is approximately 30 kg (66 lbs) or less, the weight sensor unit sends a signal to the SRS unit, which controls the front passenger's airbag so that it is not deployed. If the front passenger's airbag does not deploy, the front passenger's airbag cutoff indicator turns on and informs the occupant that the front passenger's airbag will not deploy.
