Shift Lever Disassembly and Reassembly
1. Shift Lever Assembly - Exploded View

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).



SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repair or service.

1. Shift Lever Knob Cover - Remove


2. Shift Lever Knob - Remove

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).

1.
Expand the lock tab (A), then remove the shift lever knob (B).

3. Shift Lever Knob Ring - Remove

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).


5. A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel Light Bulb - Remove


6. A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel Light Subharness - Remove


7. Shift Lock Release - Remove

1.
Expand the lock tab (A), then remove the shift lock release (B).

8. A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel - Remove

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).

Expand the lock tabs (A), then remove the A/T gear position indicator panel (B).

9. Select Cover - Remove


10. Shift Lock Unit - Remove

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).

Disconnect the connectors (A).





2.
Remove the harness clamps (A).






3.
Release the lock tab (A) and turn the pivot pin (B) counterclockwise using a hex wrench (C) as shown, and pull it.

4.
Remove the shift lock unit (D) while releasing the lock tabs (E).

11. Shift Lock Solenoid - Remove

NOTE: Do not wipe off the special grease applied to the area of the shift lever marked with an asterisk (*).

Pull the shift lock solenoid (A) out by expanding the lock tabs (B).





2.
Remove the shift lock solenoid (A).

NOTE: The shift lock solenoid consists of the solenoid (B), the solenoid plunger (C), and the plunger spring (D).

12. Shift Lock Stop/Stop Cushion - Remove


13. Park Pin Switch/A/T Gear Position Indicator Panel Light Harness - Remove

NOTE: The park pin switch and the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness are not available separately. Replace the park pin switch and the A/T gear position indicator panel light harness as a set.

1.
Remove the park pin switch (A).





2.
Remove the park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light harness (A).

14. All Removed Parts - Install

1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
