Shift Lever Housing Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repair or service.

1. Shift Lever Knob - Remove

3. Shift Lever Housing - Remove
NOTE: Do not bend the change wire excessively.
1.
Remove the harness clamps (A).
2.
Remove the lock pin (A) and the washer (B).
3.
Disconnect the change wire end (C).
4.
Unlock the lock (D).
5.
Rotate the socket (E) counterclockwise.
6.
Slide the socket and the change wire (F) out of the shift lever housing (G).
7.
Disconnect the change wire end (A).
8.
Unlock the lock (B).
9.
Rotate the socket (C) counterclockwise.
10.
Slide the socket and the change wire (D) out of the shift lever housing (E).
11.
Remove the shift lever housing (A).

NOTE: Do not bend the change wire excessively.
1.
Install the shift lever housing (A).
2.
Lock the socket (A).
3.
Connect the change wire end (B).
4.
Lock the socket (A).
5.
Install the change wire end (B).
NOTE: Position the serrated side (C) facing up.
6.
Install the washer (D) and the lock pin (E).
7.
Install the harness clamps (A).

3. Shift Lever Knob - Install
NOTE: Tighten the shift lever knob until the shift pattern is properly aligned.
