YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.?

Fuse check:

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Check the following fuse.

Is the fuse OK?
YES
The fuse is OK. Reinstall the fuse, then go to step 3.
NO
Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. D1-1 (70 A) fuse circuit.?

Determine possible failure (EPS control unit connector C):

Check for loose terminal and poor connection in the following connector.
EPS control unit connector C (2P)
Is the connector OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Repair loose terminal or poor connection. Then clear the DTC by using the HDS and recheck DTC U3003-16. If DTC U3003-16 is not confirmed, troubleshooting is complete.?
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the ON mode.

Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the EPS control unit connectors. If the EPS control unit was updated and the symptom/indication is still present, replace the EPS motor/control unit.?
