PGM-FI DTCs check:

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Check for PGM-FI DTCs with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to indicated DTC's troubleshooting.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 2.

PGM-FI system parameter check 1:

PGM-FI system parameter check 1
?1.
Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS while pressing the clutch pedal.
NOTE:It may take a minimum of five seconds for the parameter to change.

YES
     
     
     
Go to step 6.

3.
PGM-FI system parameter check 2:

PGM-FI system parameter check 2
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector

?3.
Connect terminals 1 and 2 with a jumper wire.
Terminal 1
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector No. 4
Terminal 2
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector No. 6


?4.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?5.
Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Does it indicate OPEN?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
4.
Open wire check (GND line):

Open wire check (GND line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Connect terminals 1 and 2 with a jumper wire.
Terminal 1
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector No. 6
Terminal 2
Body ground


?3.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?4.
Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Does it indicate OPEN?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the clutch pedal position switch B and body ground (G302).?
     
NO
     
     
     
The GND wire is OK, go to step 5.
5.
Open wire check (CLUTCH SW (CRUISE) line):

Open wire check (CLUTCH SW (CRUISE) line)
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Short the SCS line with the HDS.


?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector A (51P)

?4.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector: disconnected
 
PCM connector A (51P): disconnected
Test point 1
Clutch pedal position switch B 6P connector No. 6
Test point 2


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
The CLUTCH SW (CRUISE) wire is OK. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then retest.
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open in the wire between the PCM and the clutch pedal position switch B.?

Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS while pressing the clutch pedal.
NOTE:It may take a minimum of five seconds for the parameter to change.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 7.

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS while pressing the clutch pedal.
NOTE:It may take a minimum of five seconds for the parameter to change.

NO
     
     
     
Check for loose terminals in the VSA modulator-control unit 38P connector. If the VSA modulator-control unit was updated and the symptom/indication is still present, replace the VSA modulator-control unit.?
