SRS unit with a history that has detected the collision, turns on the SRS indicator. The internal components of the SRS unit are damaged and must be replaced. |

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then wait for 10 seconds. |

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off. | |
Does the SRS indicator come on for about 6 seconds and then go off?

The vehicle is OK at this time.? |
|
|
|
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2. |

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. |

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode. |

Check for communication to the vehicle with the HDS. | |
Does the HDS communicate with the vehicle?

In the SRS MENU of the HDS, select SRS. | |
Does the HDS communicate with the SRS unit?

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. |

Check the following fuse.

Is the fuse OK?

|
|
Replace the fuse, then turn the vehicle to the ON mode. If the fuse blows again, check for a short to ground in No. C28 fuse circuit (dashboard wire harness); replace the dashboard wire harness, and retest. If the problem is still present, replace the under-dash fuse/relay box.? |

Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes. |

Disconnect the following connector.

Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery. |

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode. |
?5. |
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Open in the dashboard wire harness; check for a poor ground at G405. If the ground is OK, replace the dashboard wire harness.? | |
