NOTE:
VSA DTCs may set during this troubleshooting. If so, clear them.

1.
Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

?2.
Clear the DTC with the HDS.


?3.
Test-drive the vehicle at 12 mph (20 km/h) or more for 60 seconds or more.
NOTE: Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.

?4.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then start the engine.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC C1432-62 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the Freeze data/on-board snapshot.?

PGM-FI system DTC check:

Check for Pending or Confirmed DTCs in the PGM-FI system with the HDS.

Are any DTCs indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.

Vehicle speed signal check:

Vehicle speed signal check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Raise and support the vehicle, and allow all wheels to rotate freely.

?3.
Start the engine.

?4.
Turn off the VSA function by using the VSA OFF switch.

?5.
Run the vehicle while in the 4th gear (M/T), or the D position (CVT).

?6.
Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If DTC C1432-62 goes away and the PCM was substituted, replace the original PCM.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Check for loose terminals and poor connections at EPS control unit connector B (6P). Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the EPS motor/control unit.?
