Engine Oil Pan Removal and Installation
1. Engine Oil - Drain

Drain the engine oil.

2. Under-Floor TWC/Exhaust Pipe A - Remove

Remove under-floor TWC/exhaust pipe A.

3. Rear Warm Up TWC Bracket - Remove
Remove the rear warm up TWC bracket.


4. CKP Sensor Connector - Disconnect
1.
Remove the CKP sensor cover (A).
2.
Disconnect the CKP sensor connector (B).

5. Oil Pan Assembly - Remove
1.
Remove the torque converter cover (A).
2.
Remove the transmission assembly mounting bolts (B).
3.
Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.
4.
Using a flat blade screwdriver, separate the oil pan from the engine block in the places shown.
5.
Remove the oil pan.

1. Oil Pan Assembly - Install
1.
Remove all of the old liquid gasket from the oil pan mating surfaces, the bolts, and the bolt holes.
2.
Clean and dry the oil pan mating surfaces.
3.
Apply liquid gasket (P/N 08718-0003, 08718-0004, or 08718-0009) to the oil pan mating surface of the engine block and to the inside edge of the threaded bolt holes.Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket.
NOTE:
Apply a 2.5 mm (0.098 in) diameter bead of liquid gasket along the broken line (A).
If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply new liquid gasket.
4.
Install the dowel pins (A).
5.
Install the oil pan (B).
6.
Tighten the bolts in three steps. In the final step, torque the bolts, in sequence, to 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft).
NOTE:
Wait at least 30 minutes before filling the engine with oil.
Do not run the engine for at least 3 hours after installing the oil pan.
7.
Tighten the transmission assembly mounting bolts (A).
8.
Install the torque converter cover (B)

2. CKP Sensor Connector - Connect
1.
Connect the CKP sensor connector (A).
2.
Install the CKP sensor cover (B).

3. Rear WU-TWC Bracket - Install
1.
Tighten the rear WU-TWC bracket mounting bolts until the bracket and the bolts are contacted.
2.
Tighten the mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

4. Under-Floor TWC/Exhaust Pipe A - Install

Install under-floor TWC/exhaust pipe A.

5. Engine Oil - Refill

Refill the engine with engine oil.
