1.
Remove the banjo bolt (A), and disconnect the brake hose (B) from the caliper body (C).

2.
Remove the caliper body.

NOTE: Be careful when removing the caliper body or the spring could pop out of position.

Do not spill brake fluid on the vehicle; it may damage the paint. If brake fluid does contact the paint, wash it off immediately with water.

1. Brake Caliper Body - Install

1.
Apply a thin coat of Honda caliper grease (P/N 08C30- B0224M) to the caliper pins (A) and the new pin boots (B).

2.
Install the pin boots.

3.
Install the caliper pins.

NOTE:
Make sure that the caliper pins are installed correctly. The upper caliper pin and the lower caliper pin are different. If these caliper pins are installed in the wrong location, it will cause vibration, uneven or rapid brake pad wear, and possibly uneven tire wear.
Make sure that the pin boots are properly positioned into the grooves (C) of the caliper pin and the grooves (D) of the caliper body.
Remove air from within the pin boots.

4.
Apply a thin coat of M-77 assembly paste (P/N 08798- 9010) to the pad side of the shim (A), the back of the brake pads (B), and the other areas indicated by the arrows.

5.
Wipe off the excess assembly paste from the pad shim and brake pads friction material. Keep grease and assembly paste away from the brake disc and brake pads. Contaminated brake disc or brake pads reduce stopping ability.

6.
Install the brake pads and pad shim correctly. Install the brake pad with the wear indicator (C) on the bottom inside position.

NOTE: If you are reusing the brake pads, always reinstall the brake pads in their original positions to prevent a temporary loss of braking efficiency.

7.
Install the pad return spring (A).

8.
Install the caliper body (A).

9.
Connect the brake hose (B) to the caliper body with the banjo bolt (C) and new sealing washers (D).

2. Parking Brake Cable - Connect

1.
Connect the parking brake cable (A) to the lever (B).

NOTE: Be careful not to bend or distort the cable and boot (C).

2.
Install the parking brake cable mounting bolt (D).

3. Brake System - Bleed

4. Brake Hose and Line - Check

NOTE:
Check for leaks at hose and line joints or connections, and retighten if necessary.
Check the brake hose and the parking brake cable for interference and twisting.

5. Rear Wheel - Install

6. Parking Brake - Adjust
