Front Seat Belt Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, 2-door, 4-door and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

1. Battery Terminal - Disconnect

Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure.

2. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - Remove

2-door (passenger's side): Carefully insert the tip of a small screwdriver (A) through the hole in the back of the front seat belt lower anchor cover (B), and into the hole in the front seat belt lower anchor (C). Unlock the lower anchor by pushing in on the screwdriver. Remove the screwdriver, and then detach the front seat belt anchor plate (D) and the anchor cover from the lower anchor.

4-door: Remove the lower anchor cover (A).

Remove the lower anchor bolt (A).

3. B-Pillar Upper Trim - Remove (2-Door)

Remove the B-pillar upper trim.

4. B-Pillar Upper/Lower Trim - Remove (4-Door)

Remove the B-pillar upper/lower trim.

5. Front Seat Belt Upper Anchor Bolt - Remove

Remove the upper anchor bolt (A).


6. Front Seat Belt Assembly- Remove
1.
Pull up on both locking tabs (A) to disconnect the seat belt tensioner connector (B).
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the connector.

Remove the seat belt assembly (C).

1. Front Seat Belt Assembly- Install

Install the seat belt assembly (A).
2.
Connect the seat belt tensioner connector (B) by aligning the projection (C) to the groove on the connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the connector.

2. Front Seat Belt Upper Anchor Bolt - Install
1.
Assemble the bushing (A), the collar (B), and the toothed lock washer (C) on the upper anchor bolt (D) as shown.

Install the upper anchor bolt (A).

3. B-Pillar Upper/Lower Trim - Install (4-Door)

Install the B-pillar upper/lower trim.

4. B-Pillar Upper Trim - Install (2-Door)

Install the B-pillar upper trim.

5. Front Seat Belt Lower Anchor Bolt - Install
1.
2-door: Assemble the bushing (A), the collars (B), and the washers (C) on the lower anchor bolt (D) as shown.

Install the lower anchor bolt (A).

4-door: Install the lower anchor cover (A).

2-door (passenger's side): Install the front seat belt anchor plate (A).

6. Battery Terminal - Connect

Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure.
