A/T Differential Carrier and Final Driven Gear Removal and Installation

NOTE: Inspect and adjust the bearing preload whenever the differential carrier is removed.

1. Carrier Bearing - Remove

Remove the carrier bearings.

2. Final Driven Gear - Remove
Remove the final driven gear (A).

NOTE: The final driven gear bolts have left-hand threads.


1. Final Driven Gear - Install

Install the final driven gear (A) in the direction shown.
NOTE: The final driven gear bolts have left-hand threads.
2.
Tighten the bolts to the specified torque in a crisscross pattern in at least two steps.

2. Carrier Bearing - Install

Install the carrier bearings.
