Driver's Seat Position Sensor Removal and Installation

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and the precautions and procedures before doing repairs or service.

NOTE: Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, while removing the driver's seat position sensor.

Power Seat

1. Driver's seat - Move

Raise the driver's seat all the way up, and position all the way rearward.

2. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Remove

From under the driver's seat, disconnect the driver's seat position sensor connector (A) on the driver's seat wire harness.
2.
Remove the TORX bolt (B) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the driver's seat position sensor (C).

Manual Seat (2-door)

1. Driver's seat - Move

Raise the driver's seat all the way up, and position all the way forward.

2. Battery Terminal - Disconnect

Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure, then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

3. Driver's Seat - Remove

Remove the driver's seat.

4. Front Seat Recline Cover - Remove

Remove the front seat recline cover.

5. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Remove
1.
Disconnect the driver's seat position sensor connector (A) on the driver's seat wire harness.
2.
Remove the TORX bolt (B) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the driver's seat position sensor (C).

Manual Seat (4-door)

1. Driver's seat - Move

Raise the driver's seat all the way up, and position all the way forward.

2. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Remove
1.
Remove the lower anchor cover (A).
2.
Turn over the seat belt (B), disconnect the driver's seat position sensor connector (C) on the driver's seat wire harness.
3.
Remove the TORX bolt (D) using a TORX T30 bit, then remove the driver's seat position sensor (E).

NOTE:
Be sure to install the harness so it is not pinched or interferes with other parts.
Do not turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, while installing the driver's seat position sensor.

Power Seat

1. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Install

Install the driver's seat position sensor (A) with the new TORX bolt (B), using a TORX T30 bit.
2.
Connect the driver's seat position sensor connector (C) on the driver's seat wire harness.

2. DTC - Clear

Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

3. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Operation Check

Do the driver's seat position sensor operation check.

4. SRS Operation - Confirm

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.

Manual Seat (2-door)

1. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Install

Install the driver's seat position sensor (A) with the new TORX bolt (B), using a TORX T30 bit.
2.
Connect the driver's seat position sensor connector (C) on the driver's seat wire harness.

2. Front Seat Recline Cover - Install

Install the front seat recline cover.

3. Driver's Seat - Install

Install the driver's seat.

4. DTC - Clear

Clear any DTCs with the HDS.

5. Driver's Seat Position Sensor - Operation Check

Do the driver's seat position sensor operation check.

6. SRS Operation - Confirm

Install the lower anchor cover (D).
