Engine oil level check:

Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the PCM. If it does not communicate, troubleshoot the DLC circuit.

Check for DTCs. If a DTC is present, diagnose, and repair the cause before continuing with this test.

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Is the engine oil level normal?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
Add engine oil to the normal level, then go to step 2.

Low oil pressure indicator check:

Does the low oil pressure indicator go off?

     
YES
     
     
     
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 3.

Oil pressure test:

Does the oil pressure OK?

     
YES
     
     
     
Check the following items:?
Oil filter blocked or plugged.
Oil strainer blocked or plugged.
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 4.

Determine possible failure area (gauge control module, others):

Determine possible failure area (gauge control module, others)

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and install the rocker arm oil pressure sensor.

?2.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode, and check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

5.
Gauge control module test:

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Jump the SCS line with the HDS.
NOTE: This step must be done to protect the PCM from damage.

Disconnect the following connector.

?4.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Does the low oil pressure indicator go off?

     
YES
     
     
     
Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM, then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM.?

Oil pressure sensor test:
