How to Troubleshoot the Audio System

Region Select (with touch screen)

You need to select the region so that the dominant language for the region is used. Do this procedure any time the audio unit is replaced, if you need to select a new region because you selected the incorrect region, or the vehicle is relocated.

When you replace the old audio unit with a new unit (with touch screen), Region Select Menu will start automatically.

NOTE:

	Make sure to do the Region Select after all the audio-related parts are installed in the vehicle.
	If you mistakenly select the incorrect region, restart the Region Select and try again.

Do the following (selection procedure):

1.	Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

2.	Press and hold the DISP button, the BACK button, and the VOLUME/POWER knob for about 3 seconds.

3.	When the Select Diagnosis Items menu is displayed, select the Detail Information & Setting.

4.	Select Region, and follow the screen prompts to select the region.

Anti-Theft Feature

The audio-navigation unit or the audio unit has an anti-theft protection circuit. When one of the following occurs, the unit enters the anti-theft mode.

	Disconnecting the battery.
	Disconnecting audio-navigation unit connector A (24P), audio-navigation unit connector F (18P), audio unit connector A (24P) or audio unit connector F (18P).
	Removing the No. A22 (10 A) fuse from the under-hood fuse/relay box or the No. C-4 (7.5 A) fuse from the under-dash sub fuse box.

After service, reconnect power to the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit, and turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode. There are two ways to exit the anti-theft mode:

	Press and hold the VOLUME/POWER () knob or the POWER () buttonfor at least 2 seconds. The audio-navigation unit or the audio unit automatically exits the anti-theft mode. If the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit does not exit anti-theft mode, like in cases where a known-good unit was substituted for testing, enter the anti-theft code.
	Enter the 5-digit anti-theft code.

When the audio-navigation unit or the audio unit is installed in another vehicle (same Year/Model/Trim), you have to enter the 5-digit anti-theft security code. After that, you can release the anti-theft mode by pressing and holding the VOLUME/POWER knob or the POWER button.

Disconnecting

To disconnect the connector, pull the lever (A) while pushing the lock tab (B) down, then pull the connector (C).

Connecting

To connect the connector, push the connector into the connector sleeve (A). As the connector is pressed in, the lever (B) moves to the locked position.
