The HFL does not recognize all voice tags
NOTE:
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

Check if customer's concern is duplicated.

Can the customer's concern be duplicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated, go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.?

Open wire check (MIC PWR line):

Open wire check (MIC PWR line)
?1.
Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), or press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
IG ON (II) or ON mode
Test circuit
MIC PWR
Test point 1
Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector No. 4 (WHT)
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there about 8.0 V?

     
YES
     
     
     
The MIC PWR wires is OK. Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the Front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.?

Short wire check (MIC+L line, MIC+ line):

Short wire check (MIC+L line, MIC+ line)

Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector C (16P)
Front HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
IG LOCK (0) or OFF mode
 
Audio unit connector C (16P): disconnected
 
Front HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone 8P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
MIC+L

Audio unit connector C (16P) No. 16 (LT GRN)

Is there continuity?

There is a short to body ground in the wire between the Audio unit and the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The MIC+L and the MIC+ wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 4.

Shorted wire check (MIC+L line to another lines):

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

There is a short in the wires between the Audio unit and the front HFL-navigation-ANC/active sound control microphone. Replace the affected shielded harness.?
     
NO: Without navigation
     
     
     
The MIC+L wire is OK. Go to step 5.

Open wire check (MIC+L line, MIC+ line):

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

NO
     
     
     
There is an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the HandsFreeLink control unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.?

HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone check:

HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone check
?1.
Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Reconnect all the connectors, and recheck.

Does the symptom go away?

     
YES
     
     
     
Replace the original front HFL-ANC/active sound control microphone.?
     
NO
