Electrical Compass Troubleshooting
NOTE:
Check the vehicle battery condition first

Check for B-CAN DTCs and resolve them before troubleshooting.
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

Check for hard error codes

Is the DTC2623 indicated?
YES
Do the DTC2623 troubleshooting
.?
NO
Go to step 2.
2.
Problem verification:

Check if the audio display is flashing the CAL and the NW.
Are the CAL and the NW flashing?
YES
Reboot the electrical compass unit, and recheck. If the symptom is still present,
replace the electrical compass unit

NO
Go to step 3.

Compass calibration check:

Do the Electrical Compass Calibration
.
Is the calibration completed?
YES
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.?
NO
Go to step 4.

System Diagnostic Mode check:
System Diagnostic Mode check

Go into the System Diagnostic Mode, and use the System Links to check the B-CAN icon status

Is the B-CAN icon green?
YES
Replace the electrical compass unit

NO
Go to step 5.
5.
Open wire check (B-CAN_H, B-CAN_L lines):
Open wire check (B-CAN_H, B-CAN_L lines)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector B (20P)
Gauge control module 32P connector
?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Audio unit connector B (20P): disconnected
Gauge control module 32P connector: disconnected
Test point 1
Audio unit connector B (20P) No. 3
Test point 2
Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 31
Test point 1
Audio unit connector B (20P) No. 13
Test point 2
Gauge control module connector A (32P) No. 30
Is there continuity?
YES
Replace the audio unit

NO
Repair an open in the wire(s) between the audio unit and the gauge control module.?
