NOTE: If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.

1.
Problem verification:

Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?2.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode.

?3.
Turn the parking and back-up sensor switch to ON.

?4.
Wait for at least 5 seconds.

?5.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B2645 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.?

Is DTC B2642, B2643, B2644, and/or B2645 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 8.
     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 9.
     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 10.
     
NO
     
     
     
Check for loose or poor connections. If OK, replace the parking and back-up sensor control unit.?

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode and then the ON mode.

Turn the parking and back-up sensor switch to ON.

YES
     
     
     
Go to step 4.
     
NO
     
     
     
4.
Determine possible failure area (SOR SIDE R line, power and ground lines):

Determine possible failure area (SOR SIDE R line, power and ground lines)

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.

?3.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.

?4.
Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
ON mode
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
BOR SIDE R, E2 SIDE R
Test point 1
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 6 (LT BLU)
Test point 2
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 4 (WHT)


Is there about 8 V?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 5.
     
NO
     
     
     
Go to step 7.
5.
Shorted wire check (SOR SIDE R line to power):

Shorted wire check (SOR SIDE R line to power)

Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Is there battery voltage?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to power in SOR SIDE R wire between the right rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The SOR SIDE R wire is not shorted to power, go to step 6.

Shorted wire check (SOR SIDE R line):

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

Disconnect the following connector.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
OFF mode
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
SOR SIDE R
Test point 1
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 2 (YEL)
Test point 2
Body ground


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair a short to ground in SOR SIDE R wire between the right rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in SOR SIDE R wire between the right rear corner sensor and the parking and back-up sensor control unit.?
7.
Open wire check (BOR SIDE R, E2 SIDE R lines):

Open wire check (BOR SIDE R, E2 SIDE R lines)
?1.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connector.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
OFF mode
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Right rear center sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
BOR SIDE R
Test point 1
Right rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 6 (LT BLU)
Test point 2
Right rear center sensor 6P connector No. 5 (LT BLU)


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in E2 SIDE R wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in BOR SIDE R wire between the right rear corner sensor and the right rear center sensor.?
8.
Open wire check (BOR CTR R, E2 CTR R lines):

Open wire check (BOR CTR R, E2 CTR R lines)
?1.
Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connectors.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
OFF mode
Right rear center sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Left rear center sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
BOR CTR R
Test point 1
Right rear center sensor 6P connector No. 6 (PNK)
Test point 2
Left rear center sensor 6P connector No. 5 (PNK)


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in E2 CTR R wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in BOR CTR R wire between the right rear center sensor and the left rear center sensor.?
9.
Open wire check (BOR CTR L, E2 CTR L lines):

Open wire check (BOR CTR L, E2 CTR L lines)

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connectors.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
OFF mode
Left rear center sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Left rear corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected
Test circuit
BOR CTR L
Test point 1
Left rear center sensor 6P connector No. 6 (GRN)
Test point 2
Left rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 5 (GRN)


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in E2 CTR L wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in BOR CTR L wire between the left rear center sensor and the left rear corner sensor.?
10.
Open wire check (BOR SIDE L, E2 SIDE L lines):

Open wire check (BOR SIDE L, E2 SIDE L lines)

Press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.

?2.
Disconnect the following connectors.

?3.
Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.

OFF mode
Parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector: disconnected
Left rear corner sensor 6P connector: disconnected

Parking and back-up sensor control unit 24P connector No. 14 (BLU)
Test point 2
Left rear corner sensor 6P connector No. 6 (BLU)


Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in E2 SIDE L wire between the parking and back-up sensor control unit and the left rear corner sensor.?
     
NO
     
     
     
Repair an open or high resistance in BOR SIDE L wire between the parking and back-up sensor control unit and the left rear corner sensor.?
