Audio System DTC Troubleshooting: 2612
DTC 2612: Upper Display Disg
NOTE:
This audio DTC sets when Connection NG is indicated in the electrical compass unit diagnosis (the compass unit icon is red in the System Links).
Check the connectors for poor connections or loose terminals.

The failure is duplicated, go to step 7.
     
NO: DTC is not indicated
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.?

Determine possible failure area (related unit, others)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the following connector.
Tuner unit connector A (12P)

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Is DTC 2612 indicated?

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the following connectors.
Audio unit connector D (12P)
Multi-information display unit connector A (12P)

Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
 
Audio unit connector D (12P): disconnected
 
Multi-information display unit connector A (12P): disconnected
 
Tuner unit connector A (12P): disconnected

Body ground

Is there continuity?

     
YES
     
     
     
There is a short to body ground in the GA BUS wire(s). Replace the affected shielded harness.?
     
NO
     
     
     
The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS? wires are not shorted to ground. Go to step 4.

The GA BUS+ and the GA BUS? wires are not shorted. Go to step 5.

The SH GA BUS wire is OK. Go to step 6.

There is an open in the wire(s) between the multi-information display unit and the audio unit. Replace the affected shielded harness.?

The +B AUDIO wire is OK. Go to step 8.

Repair an open in the wire between the No. A22 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the multi-information display unit.?

Repair an open in the wire between the No. B37 (7.5A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the multi-information display unit.?

Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.

Repair an open or high resistance in the wire between the multi-information display unit and body ground (G505).?
