Problem verification:

Problem verification
?1.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?3.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0010-1A or B0011-1A indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.?

Front passenger's airbag inflator check:

Front passenger's airbag inflator check
?1.
Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.

Disconnect the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (A) on the dashboard wire harness.


?5.
Connect the terminals of SRS simulator lead J to the SRS inflator simulator (2 ? connectors), then connect SRS simulator lead J to the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.

?6.
Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.

?7.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?8.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?9.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0010-1A or B0011-1A indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
Short to another wire in the front passenger's airbag first or second inflator; replace the front passenger's airbag, then clear the DTC.?

Shorted wire check (RA1? line to RA1? line, RA2? line to RA2? line):

Shorted wire check (RA1? line to RA1? line, RA2? line to RA2? line)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.
Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector A (39P)

?4.
Disconnect the SRS inflator simulator from SRS simulator lead J. Do not disconnect SRS simulator lead J from the front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector on the dashboard wire harness.

Measure the resistance of the test points.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): disconnected
SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
Front passenger's airbag inflator 4P connector (on the dashboard wire harness): connected to SRS simulator lead J
SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 4 and No. 5: connected to SRS short canceller
SRS unit connector A (39P) No. 6 and No. 7: connected to SRS short canceller
Test point
SRS simulator lead J black terminal

Test point
SRS simulator lead J red terminal


Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 M??

     
YES
     
     
     
The RA1?, RA1?, RA2?, and RA2? wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector A (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the dashboard wire harness.?

Short to another wire in the dashboard wire harness; replace the dashboard wire harness, then clear the DTC.?
