Problem verification:

Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?2.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?3.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0070-13 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
     
NO
     
     
     
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.?

Driver's seat belt tensioner check:

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

Disconnect the following connector.
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (on the floor wire harness)

Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.
Terminal A
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (female terminals) No. 1 (on the floor wire harness):
Terminal B
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (female terminals) No. 2 (on the floor wire harness):


?7.
Reconnect the negative cable to the 12 volt battery.

?8.
Clear the DTCs with the HDS.


?9.
Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

?10.
Check for DTCs with the HDS.

Is DTC B0070-13 indicated?

     
YES
     
     
     
Go to step 3.
     
NO
     
     
     
Open in the driver's seat belt tensioner; replace the driver's seat belt, then clear the DTC.?

Open wire check (LRP?, LRP? lines):

Open wire check (LRP?, LRP? lines)

Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

?2.
Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

?3.
Remove the jumper wire from the driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector on the floor wire harness.

?4.
Disconnect the following connector.
SRS unit connector B (39P)

?5.
Connect terminals A and B with a jumper wire.

?6.
Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition
Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (on the floor wire harness): disconnected
SRS unit connector B (39P): disconnected
SRS unit connector B (39P) terminals No. 20 and No. 21: jumped
Test point 1
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (female terminals) No. 1 (on the floor wire harness):
Test point 2
Driver's seat belt tensioner 2P connector (female terminals) No. 2 (on the floor wire harness):


Is there 1.0 ? or less?

     
YES
     
     
     
The LRP? and LRP? wires are OK. Faulty SRS unit or poor connection at SRS unit connector B (39P) and the SRS unit. Check the connection; if the connection is OK, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit. If the DTC does not clear, replace the floor wire harness.?

Open in the floor wire harness; replace the floor wire harness, then clear the DTC.?
